Is it Monday yet?!

Happy Monday!!

monday

Woo Hoo!!

MOndaaaayyy!!!!

Workout:

Subpar back workout because my energy level lately has been crap! What. The. Eff. body!?!??! I drank coffee about an hour ago so……..

I am about to hit the pavement for a run though because it’s gorgeous outside!!

As I was driving to the gym this morning, I had some random thoughts during my short trip, I am awkward and weird so don’t judge.

Damn, I need gas. I am pretty sure I have needed gas for the past 3 days and I hope I make it the two miles to the gym without having to stop (I did it!)

I want a chik-fil-a ice cream cone but it’s too far away so I’ll settle for Smoothie King I guess.

This sports bra is too big. Which means my boobs have shrunk (SMH).

Hell nah, this person did not just pull out in front of me going 15mph!! (Does anyone not slow down when this happens and just rides the ass of the person in front of you until they possibly decide to speed up?)

I wonder if there is a Menchies (fro-yo) near work I can stop at before work tonight.

I should probably make a trip to Lulu for a new sports bra so I can workout to my full potential.

Why would anyone get a license plate with ‘TOASTD’ spelled on it?

I wore the wrong underwear to the gym…awesome. This is going to be uncomfortable.

I hope Charlee doesn’t poop in the house while I am gone…little shit!

She needs a haircut.

OMG! Front row parking spot(at the gym). HA!

I can't see, mom!

I can’t see, mom!

First world problems/thoughts I guess.

Have a good one, ya’ll!!

Thoughts for Thursday

Guys!

Sorry I have sucked posting this week. I have been a busy bee but I’m back!

This weeks workouts have left me feeling sore and I couldn’t be happier about that. I have really been pushing myself as far as lifting heavier. Here are my workouts so far from this week:

Monday: Get yo A$$ outta bed and shred those legs! OMG this workout was so hard. My energy level was crap!!!

legs7

Tuesday: Sore!!!

back7

Wednesday:

arms

So, I also worked out my shoulders on Wednesday later in the evening but I will get to that reason in just a second!! =)

Thursday: Yeeeeaaahhh, still waiting to make my way to the gym. It’s supposed to be leg day but with the hoover stairs on Tuesday, sprints yesterday along with a second workout, my legs are toast. Looks like core work and cardio today!

doh

I thought it would be fun to do a Thoughts for Thursday post. Just some random things, thoughts, rants I would like to share with ya’ll! Here goes!

I am a paranoid doggy mom. Anytime Charlee acts weird, doesn’t eat, has diarrhea etc, my alarms go off and she is automatically dying. I can’t imagine what I will be like when we have children one day. A few weeks ago, she was acting weird, not eating, and snorting a lot. Oh, and she would wheez whenever we went on walks. I know she is a shih tzu and has a flat, Marvin the Martian face, but it freaked me out. I would get down on the ground with her and pat her back like she was choking on something. Anyways, I made a vet appointment and $150 later she is in perfect health. Just a normal little shit being spiteful. #youbetterlockthatshitupchuck

chuck3 chuck4

She’s a hot mess.

OK….RANT…..are you ready for this??!

When I am working out at the gym, I am normally by myself with my headphones on in my zone. When I am in the middle of a set, DON’T come and interrupt me to tell me that the rope for the cable machine upstairs is better than the one I am currently using. I don’t care that it’s longer and you get better motion out of your triceps. I have seen that rope and yes, it’s longer, but my arm span isn’t 65″ like yours so I don’t wanna use it!!! Thank you for sharing that info I don’t care about and thank you for making me lose count!

Here’s another one:

I am in the middle of doing my tricep extensions on the bench while lying down, guy comes up to me and friggin taps me on the shoulder, so I sit up, put my weights down, take the headphones off and stare at him. He asks: “Wanna workout with me?”  Me: “No thanks, I’m almost done.”  Him: “Are you sure?”  Me: “uuhh, yeah, I’m good, thanks though.”  Here is the best part:  Him: “wanna model for me?”  Me: ” no, I only do that for husband so please let me finish my workout!!”  What a creeper!!

I should probably start wearing my ring to the gym. UGH!! What possesses peeps to creep on other peeps at the gym!??! I feel and look less sexy during my sweat session. RANT OVER.

ok

I have recently fallen in love with the show, Sex and the City. What took me so long!??! E! plays multiple episodes during the day and I can’t not leave it on. It makes me laugh.

city

I love ice cream and frozen yogurt. More like an obsession.

I also love smoothies. I have one everyday.

My favorite combo is: mango, strawberry, vanilla protein, greek yogurt, almond milk, and chia seeds.

Peanut butter. Nuff said.

Soooooo, I have been thinking about doing this certain thing for a while now. I figured I have pushed my body to the fitness level it’s at now, why not try something totally new and super hard and super rewarding no matter the outcome at the end of the day.

I have decided to sign up for a coach and compete in the NPC…National Physique Committee. No, I’m not talking about muscles bulging everywhere and acquiring a man voice. I will still maintain a feminine physique but I will build a little more muscle and become more cut. This will be one of the hardest things I do and dedication to the process is key! This will involve totally new eating habits, counting macros, working out like crazy(nothing new to me) and staving off some serious cravings. It will eliminate a lot of things from my diet for this 20 week prep. No alcohol, sweets, or fulfilling cravings whenever I want. I am sure I can have a cheat meal here and there but I we shall see.

Going out to dinner with friends won’t be as fun when they are eating pizza or burgers and I’ll be munching on asparagus and chicken breasts. It’s cool, I am ok with that because I am doing something a lot of people would never do. At the end of September, I’ll be strutting around on a stage in front of A LOT of people flaunting my hard ass work. I have never been comfortable in a bathing suit and I can’t wait for this day! So, you can either support me or not, but I am doing this for me! The pizza, burgers, fries, alcohol will be waiting for me at the end of this 20 week prep!

PS: My  coach is absolutely adorable and so sweet.

I met her last night at her bootcamp where she put us through an awesome cardio sesh and then a killer shoulder workout. Hence, what I said up top earlier. I am so sore today!! There was also a girl at the bootcamp who I totally recognized but thought, I don’t know anyone in this city so I don’t know her. She then came up to me and was like, “do I know you?” and I said I thought the same thing about her. A few minutes later she came up to me all excited and said, “you got married at Worthington Inn! I was one of your servers!” YESSS!!!! So we reminisced about that night for a minute. I digress.

Erin Davis, my coach =)

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday!!

I wish I could call it my weekend BUT I work all weekend. It’s cool though…I did just come back from Florida and all.

My workout this morning focused on shoulders, abs and cardio. I did 40 minutes on the stairmaster at different speeds and step variations.

I also woke up this morning to a tick on my arm. OMG!! I have never had a tick crawl on me before or at least that I know of, so it was super creepy. I have this huge vein on my arm and he was totally scoping out a place to park on it. GAAAHHH!!!!!

I bet I know who carried that in to the bed *cough ALEX cough*

I kid.

On to my favorite things from this week:

Traders Joe’s Specialty Teas Green Tea and Chuck =)

tea

I have been drinking this in the AM as a pre-workout and to get my metabolism rollin’. I drink it on ice with some stevia and it is so good!!

HD Microfinish Powder by Makeup Foroever

After I apply my makeup I brush this over it and it keeps my face so smooth.  I have oily skin and it soaks it right up!

Korres Body Butter

greek

My mom ordered this from HSN and when I was in Florida, I got fried on my last day there. BAD! So I have been applying this every day and it has helped with the burn and itching. It comes from Greece, too, which is awesome!

Essie Nail Polish

The new springs colors by Essie are so pretty!

The Divergent Series

Alex bought this set for me for Christmas and I am on the third book now. Addicted! It’s great for breaking up my studying.

AMRAP workouts (as many reps as possible)

amrap

I have been incorporating this into my workouts as a cool down after heavy lifting. It beats getting on a cardio machine and keeps the heart rate up!

BOSU balls

bosu

I use these to work on stabilization and for core work. Try it!

The beach!

fl6

We spent the day at St Pete Beach on Sunday and I savored every moment and apparently every sun ray…my chest was fried! But I miss the beach!!!

Publix Subs

publix

A trip to the beach isn’t complete without a Publix sub. I crave them. I ate multiple Publix subs during my trip to Florida. No shame. Anyone from Florida knows what I mean by this statement.  Fun Fact: my sister and I used to call Publix; PUBES! We’re sick.

EOS lip balm

eos

It’s the bomb. I love its awkward shape, too! So fun.

Here are some links to my favorite bloggers and their Friday Favorites!

Social Isolation

I watched this video today while I was supposed to be studying.

Wow.

Talk about an eye opening video. I have seen something similar in the past but this video definitely had an impact on me.

When I was in Florida, I caught myself on my iPhone way too much instead of taking in the moments of hanging with my family.

I caught myself snapping photos of sunsets and actually missing the sun setting. My most favorite part of living in Florida were the sunrises and sunsets. There is no where else..in my opinion…that has the most gorgeous sunsets than Florida and missed some of them!

I grew up in trees, on bikes and rollerblades and playing with sidewalk chalk. I HATED my brothers Nintendo and I am still not a fan of them.

I catch myself on the couch, with Alex, staring at my iPhone when all he wants is my attention.

I also get on my laptop instead of opening up my books quite often. This needs to stop.

Alex and I have a rule that we aren’t allowed phones or anything on dates or at dinners. This needs to be applied to more areas of life. Too often, we have looked around at our surroundings and all the people have their heads down. Even children…..at dinner with their families!! Totally unacceptable and in my opinion, lazy parenting.

This video was posted a week ago and already has 30 million views….hopefully it makes an impact! It sure has for me.

I am off to study. I hope this video moves you in some way.

Florida

I just spent a week in Florida and it was glorious!

IMG_4289

My sisters graduation was on Friday, so lots of family came together to celebrate her achievements. I love hanging out with my family and since we don’t live in the same state, it makes it all the more special to be together.

not prepared for this photo Bob! lol

I was really bad about taking photos, so there aren’t many from this trip. I suck.

I was worried that I would slip on my healthy eating habits but I stayed on track most of the time with some ice cream and a cheeseburger thrown in there. I have to cheat every now and then otherwise I will fail. I also made it to the gym a couple of times, ran outside and did a HIIT workout. Back on track today with my split workouts!

So, I love to fly. I love airports, airplanes and just people watching. Traveling makes me happy in general but I love flying and I usually love turbulence (weird, I know). To me, it keeps the flight interesting and it’s kind of fun. I love the butterflies I get with it. I used to travel for work on a weekly basis and this had me on many planes, so I got bored and turbulence made me happy. This was not true on Wednesday though!!!!!!! I was in a nice slumber and all of a sudden the plane just dropped and started jerking around. I woke up so startled, people were screaming, kids were crying, and the sweet old lady next to me grabbed my hand. My immediate reaction was to grab my hand rests and hold on. I was scared. It felt like the pilots couldn’t get it under control and we were going down. But after what seemed like forever, the plane finally straightened its ish out. I probably lost a couple years off my life.

flying over Nashville ❤

Turns out, we over Pensacola, Fl and there were some terrible storms happening which caused lots of flash flooding and lots of lightning. Crazy spring weather. Needless to say, my feelings for flying have not changed and I am still a happy child during takeoff, turbulence and landing. The end.

Alex arrived on Thursday and we hit up Ana Maria Island so for some beach time. We also made a pit stop on the way there for my beloved Publix sub. I miss them. While mom was eating her sub, a seagull obviously planned his attack perfectly because he came in from behind and actually got his little foot on her sub and covered it in sand. BAHAHAHAHHA!!! It was awesome.

Alex also saved a guys life. This poor guy was struggling to get out of the waves and ended up falling backwards and trying to crawl out of the ocean. Alex spotted him and ran over and pulled him up out of the water. He then told Alex he has cerebral palsy. Once he went into panic mode it was like his body quit on him. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Love him!

Friday was April’s graduation at Van Wezel in downtown Sarasota. The main speaker was the President of FGCU, my university! I was so excited to see his name on the program and when he was introduced I wanted so badly to yell Dunk City!! I refrained. It was also a really proud moment to see April walk across the stage to receive her degree. I teared up a little bit.

fl11

Afterwards, we went to Siesta Key Village to celebrate over dinner and drinks. Let’s just say a lot of shenanigans went down. Such a fun night! We continued the fun at my moms house over Apples to Apples and loud talking out on the lanai at 2 am. I love my family.

yes, that is a toad

yes, that is a toad

Sunday, we hit up St Pete Beach for a bit before dropping Alex off at the airport. It was sad to see him leave because I knew the end of my trip was coming up too. Why do vacations always fly by? I left Monday evening and goodbyes always suck! It wasn’t as hard this time around though because I will be back at the end of this month for Kim’s wedding =)

Woo hoo!!

Stitchfix

I had the case of the Monday blues when I woke up this morning, First of all, it’s rainy, cold and dark outside and I woke up later than I normally do. I hate that because I feel like my day is wasted. I guess my body needed the rest.

I went to the gym and pumped out a leg workout because Mondays are leg day and I was ready for it! I focused a lot on squats and lunges. I went a bit lighter on the weights today so I can could do a lot more reps and feel the burn. It was also good to get that mind to muscle connection as I performed each exercise. With every concentric and eccentric move I connected with the muscle and it was cool! BURN BABY BURN!

On Saturday, I worked out my chest and shoulders and Sunday, I just focused on cardio and abs.

chest

Sunday was a pretty chill day until work. Alex and I went to the mall and walked around. We were possibly looking for some clothes for Florida..this week!!…but didn’t see anything. This just means I will have to go shopping with my momma…we are good at shopping together. I also can’t wait for some fresh seafood. Sorry Ohio, your seafood sucks!!!

On to the title of this post, Stitchfix. I first heard about it from one of my favorite bloggers…Peanut Butter Fingers….and it sounded really intriguing, so I signed up! You go online to their website, fill out a style profile, preferences etc., and they ship you a box of clothes or accessories to try on or try out. They give you a little styling card too to give you ideas on how to wear the pieces. Each box contains five pieces and they give you three days to pick and choose what you want to keep and ship back to them. The box comes with a return bag so it’s super easy and  convenient.

My whole Monday turned around as soon as I got home and saw my first Stitchfix box at my door! So fun!

Here are the pieces that were in my box:

sf1

I thought this cardigan had a cute print but I have a million cardigans so I don’t need another one!

sf2

This light sweater was really comfy but again, I have a a lot of sweaters and with spring here and summer on its way in…hopefully…I don’t need any warm clothes right now.

sf4sf3

This tank was super cute and comfortable. I loved the details on the back with the zipper and pulled in design but it was too big. I guess I need to go in and change my size since I have leaned out a bit from the last time I filled out my profile.

sf5sf6

I loved this boho top but again, too big. They also sent me a pair of black skinny jeans which fit but I don’t need anymore jeans. I just donated 12 pairs of jeans!

I am going to have to go in and change my profile around and make it tailored more towards summer clothes and dresses! Also, you get your own stylist so they continue to work with you once you sign up and keep receiving fixes. You do have a $20 fee but that goes toward anything you purchase in the fix. I am not keeping any of my items since most were too big and more for cooler weather. Can’t wait for my next fix!

This is by no means a fashion blog but I thought I would share this since it was like Christmas morning receiving such a fun package at the door. Click my referral link to go directly to Stitchfix to sign up. Yeah, I get points but I think every girl should experience such a fun concept!

You can sign up for automatic fixes or schedule one every other month or once a year. No obligations. I also was not compensated for this post. I just wanted to share how cool this company is =)

Ta Ta for now!

Why Not Wednesday

So here it is, some things that I shall put out there about myself to float around on the internet for eternity.

I can’t stand washing my hands.

Alex thinks I am so weird but I can’t stand the feeling of my skin rubbing together. You know that 20 second rule for washing hands….mine is more like 1/2 a second. I freaken hate it and I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it!

ecardhands

I also can’t handle feet rubbing together. OMG!!!

I am obsessed with my dog. I love her, I love her! I just want to squish her little face and eat her little nose and smell her little paws all day!

Minus her farts…those things have been lethal lately. She cleared our couch last night.

puppy Charlee butt!

puppy Charlee butt!

I will eat you!

I will eat you!

I could live at the gym. I had some beefy dude today ask me, “Are you here twice a day? Because I see you here all the time?”

My response: “Yes, I am here twice a day on days I don’t work. I love it!”

It’s true, I go twice a day a few times a week. Not because I am obsessed with a number on the scale and not because I am vain. I’m not. I have big goals in the near future and I am working hard on making them HAPPEN with DEDICATION. I am doing this for ME. Not to compare myself to someone else’s Chapter 20 when I am only on Chapter 1. There, I said it.

His response: “I hate the gym, I hate this so much but I do it to keep in shape.”

My response: “Dude, find something that you enjoy then! There are plenty of other fitness related activities out there to make you happy.”

He walks away with his big, meaty arms and lats and traps. Sheesh. I felt bad for him. Not really.

me2

I used to have ZERO confidence, so living in Florida where you basically live in a bathing suit was torture to me. I hated my body. I tried everything to get skinny. Cardio for days!! Now, I lift weights, heavy weights and do hard cardio 3 times a week and I my confidence has sky rocketed in the past 2 years!

fitness2

I love froyo. If I had it my way, I would eat froyo or ice cream for that matter, every night for dinner.

I love hamsters. I ask Alex every now and then if I can get one, but to no prevail. Growing up, I had so many hamsters! I even had a hamster, Spots, who got pregnant by Coco, and had like 15 babies. When I discovered the pink, hairless babes in the cage, I thought Spots’ insides were coming out and screamed, grabbed the whole cage and ran to my moms bedroom to show her the horror! (I was 7 by the way). My brother laughed and called me an idiot and nonchalantly stated, “she had babies.”

Needless to say, I learned a lot during that time. HAHA…also, I learned that mother hamsters are cruel and if they are hungry they eat their babies. Only 3 survived to adulthood and we gave them to a local pet store.

hamster

I rescued a hamster in college and her name was Hammy/Bear. I loved her. She also had three legs but we won’t get into that story of how that happened. Just know that she lived a great life, had lots of friends, and ate lots of carrots and bananas. We also enjoyed watching her run around in her ball. Oh, and apparently she was an escape artist and liked to cuddle in bed with my roommate. Love you Vicki!!! =)

bear

That’s Bear/Hammy with three legs! And my 20 year old self.

I had to wear head-gear in kindergarten because of my jacked up grill aka under-bite…kind of like Charlee. Ugh…thank goodness I don’t have any photos of that thing or me in that thing! I remember the chin support always smelled so bad!!! My mom never made me wear it in public but my grandma sure as crap did!! Gotta love grandmas…or in my case, Mimi.

I did have a blast googling some images of head-gear….I can laugh because I endured one of these things people!!

That’s all folks!
